The flat IDE ribbon cables?
You have your (far end connector) and your (middle connector) on a flat IDE ribbon cable.
So after i plug in the IDE cable to my motherboard,
do i set the 20GB drive that has my OS on it over to the Master drive and hook it to the far end connector,
Then set the second hard drive over to the Slave drive and hook that to the middle connector on the IDE ribbon cable.
if you're going to manually set the master and slave it doesn't matter ... the only time the cable position is important is when you set both drives to "Cable Select" as the name implies ... then it matters where on the cable you place them ... C: drive on the end ... other drive in the middle
