How to correctly stamp an envelope sending overseas?
Hi everyone,
Please excuse me as I apologise for seriously not having any idea of how to correctly stamp mail that will be sent overseas.
So let's say that I'm sending mail from here (Australia) to the US. How will I stamp the envelope? Do I have to buy American stamps or use Australian stamps?
What's the...how should I say this..."procedure" of placing the stamps on the envelope?

You put your own Australian stamps on it - the procedure is to correctly address the envelope/package and then take it to your nearest Post Office - there they will weigh it and ask if you want to send it airmail (fast) or surface (slow) - then they will sell you the correct value of stamps to stick on the envelope (this may be one or more to make up the correct value depending on the cost) - this will be more than a normal internal mail but the exact amount depends on size, weight and method of carriage.
