How should the council monitor the use of the disability stickers in cars more effectively?
I live near a football ground which recently granted resident parking on match days. However since this has happened, I have seen an increase of motorists using the disability sticker when it is evident that they or anyone in their car do not have a disability and this is a blatant abuse and an insult to those who are generally disabled.
It's a catch 22, because not all disabilities are visible with the naked eye. The purpose of the sticker is so that the disabled are able to park without question in designated spots. I think the best way to monitor their use more effictively is to assign some kind of picture id that goes with the sticker (just a pic with disability logo) and anyone using said parking must produce the id upon being asked by any officer, or even better by anyone who has control of property ie store manager, employee, etc. Those who are truly disabled would probably appreciate the fact that others are looking out for their assigned parking. But your right it's a shame when people abuse any designated parking, especially those for the disabled.
